Privacy Policy
Privacy Shield Pro is a browser extension that blocks ads, trackers, suspicious scripts, and phishing attempts, while providing local privacy ratings and controls. This page explains what data the extension handles and how it is used.
Information we handle
Privacy Shield Pro processes page-level information while you browse so it can provide its protection features. This may include:
- page URLs and hostnames
- script and resource domains
- cookie counts and similar page signals
- whether a password field is present on the current page
- phishing and safety indicators derived from the current page
- extension settings, site-specific allow/block rules, local counters, and recent protection events
- a randomly generated installation token and entitlement status used for subscription verification
How we use this information
We use this information only to provide the extension's features, including:
- blocking ads, trackers, and suspicious network requests
- cleaning tracking parameters from URLs
- showing warnings for suspicious or insecure pages
- displaying local privacy scores, counters, and dashboard information
- managing your protection settings and site rules
- verifying whether premium features are entitled to the current installation
Local storage
Most data handled by the extension is stored locally on your device using browser extension storage. That includes settings, local statistics, site-level privacy data, and script firewall rules.
We do not sell this data. We do not use it for advertising.
Remote communication
The extension makes a limited HTTPS request to our own server to verify entitlement status. For that check, the extension uses the generated installation token stored on your device.
We do not intentionally send page URLs, script lists, cookie counts, passwords, or form contents to our server.
Website and billing
If you use our website to sign in, link a subscription, or complete a purchase, the website or its payment provider may collect account or payment information necessary to complete that transaction. That information is handled by the website or payment provider and is not stored in the browser extension itself.
Passwords and sensitive data
The extension may detect when a password field is focused so it can show a local warning on insecure or suspicious pages. It does not read, store, or transmit password values or form contents.
Sharing
We do not share browsing data with advertisers or data brokers. We may use trusted service providers to operate our website and entitlement service only as needed to provide the extension and its activation flow.
Retention
Local data remains on your device until you clear the extension data or uninstall the extension. Entitlement-related records may be retained as needed to operate subscription verification and prevent abuse.
Your choices
You can turn off features inside the extension, clear the extension's data, or uninstall the extension at any time.
Security
We use HTTPS/TLS for our own service endpoints. Executable code for the extension is packaged locally in the extension bundle. We do not use remotely hosted code.
Children's privacy
Privacy Shield Pro is not intended for children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the extension changes. The effective date above will reflect the latest version.
